Border Reopening

Health & Travel Related Entry Requirements

Our borders will reopen on October 31, 2020, to
international travelers, tourists & returning nationals.


The aim is to re-open safely with minimum risk of reintroduction of the virus to the Federation.


There are appropriate protocols to ensure the safety of our people and the safety of the inbound traveler or tourist.

PHASE 1

Health & Travel Related Entry Requirements

01

Work remotely

from home

Allow your employees to work remotely, otherwise, you shall cease operations.

Public Service

work from home

Members of the public service shall work remotely from home, except as otherwise directed by the Secretary to the Cabinet.

Non-essential stores or business remain closed

Except for the following
businesses
 (click here) which may remain open for any period within the specified time

Social distancing

-at least 6 ft.

All stores or business to ensure customers maintain physical distancing of at least 6ft.

Shelter in place

for all residents

 Every person shall remain confined to their place of residence, inclusive of their yard
space, to avoid contact outside of their family.

Education and religious places remain closed

Virtual activities are allowed as well as
individual attendance at a place of worship while practicing social distancing

Social events or activities are

restricted

All social events and gatherings whether public or private are restricted. Read details (here)

Airports and sea ports are closed to international travellers

 with the exception of outgoing flights or outgoing ships, cargo flights or cargo ships, commercial courier flights, and emergency medical & diplomatic flights

Inter-island private commercial
transport isn't allowed

No one shall offer for hire or seek to travel on any inter-island private commercial sea transport

Restriction on

road traffic

No person shall drive a vehicle  or motorbike on any public or private road for a purpose other than stated in this regulation

Limited use of

public transportation 

 No person shall offer for hire or seek to travel on motor omnibus, car or taxi unless there is not more than one passenger in the vehicle; or a ferry unless there is no more than persons per row.

Avoid

visiting

Any place of quarantine or isolation,
patients in a hospital or residential care, elderly nursing home and detainee in prison.

Penalty 

 

A person who contravenes or fails to comply with these Regulations shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of up to five thousand dollars or imprisonment for up to 6 months or both.

Re-opening

of Bars

The suspension of the retail liquor license has been removed and bars can be opened from Saturday, June 13, 2020. However, physical distancing measures must be observed.

Wearing masks outdoors

A person shall wear a face mask, covering their nose and mouth, when in a public place

Exceptions for days of limited operation

“Day of limited operation” means a period of limited operation of businesses and enterprises
from 5:00 am to 8:00 p.m. while following strictely social distancing protocols

What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
